Facilities at the IPC-UICT

Information Processing Center (IPC) provides internet and intranet connectivity to entire UICT through fiber optic backbone with copper to the desktop. IPC houses dedicated servers for catering the different requirements of the insititute viz. Siddhi server for intranet connectivity; email server for providing email access to research and teaching staff of the institute; proxy server for internet connectivity and vighnahar server for windows based applications like Aspentech, Mathcad, Centralized Antivirus tools etc. IPC also houses 60 personal computers (50 exclusively used for the undergraduate laboratories and 10 exclusively used for post-graduate access). Computer access to students is by NIS authentication and NFS Homeserver. IPC also has two laptops and one LCD projector which are available for the entire institute for guest/visiting lectures, seminars, workshops. IPC is also looking after the office automation project and has recently launched the system of web based e-circulars in the institute. IPC is currently is looking after the development of the network connectivity in the institute and has procured latest technology servers, workstations, networking switches through the TEQIP/World Bank project to enhance the connectivity in the institute.

Note: All the Postgratude students can have their accounts in IPC for linux based mathematical simulations with a undertaking of their respective research guides.
